Orbi tool
The Orbi tool adds automated sanding and polishing capabilities to various types of CNC routers and machining centers.
Employing a random orbital motion, the Orbi tool can create a smoother, streak-free finish with less risk of leaving circular marks compared to non-random motion. The 5mm (3/16”) orbit offers a good compromise between material removal and fine finishing, making it suitable for a wide range of sanding and polishing tasks.
The Orbi tool has 5mm (3/16”) of axial travel which allows the backing pad to float on surfaces, ensuring constant pressure is maintained while allowing for uneven surfaces. Float pressure is infinitely adjustable, allowing the perfect pressure to be used for each sanding or polishing job.
Each Orbi tool variant is balanced for a particular backing pad size and weight. Having a balanced tool is important as it reduces forces on spindle bearings. Included with each Orbi tool is a separate balance weight which also allows a smaller lighter pad size to be used while still maintaining balance. Just fit the balance weight when installing a smaller backing pad

Notes:
1 Compatible backing pad size
The backing pad sizes shown for each Orbi tool variant reflects the pad sizes typically used with that Orbi tool. Other pad sizes can be used, provided the total pad weight meets the specified pad weight for that Orbi tool. When the included balance weight is fitted, that weight is included in the total pad weight. This allows the use of more than one pad size with each tool. Backing pads and other consumables are not included with Orbi Sanding tools.
2 Total backing pad weight
The total backing pad weight shown for each Orbi tool variant is the total required pad weight to ensure the tool is balanced within a safe range. The total pad weight includes the weight of the pad and the weight of anything attached to the pad, such as a sandpaper disc or polishing pad.
3 Maximum RPM
The maximum RPM specified for each Orbi tool is the maximum RPM of the tool, and this RPM should not be exceeded. Backing pads used with the Orbi tool may have a lower maximum rpm rating and this lower rating should be observed.
